on ramadan reflections.2

certain things seem and feel so sure, so right. sitting in the cold on this rooftop, enjoying the tingle against my flesh. feeling warmth seep from my cup of tea as my hands comfort it. staring at the nearly full moon until it expands into a blur of light that stays as a single sharp point behind my eyelids. sitting with a straight back and crossed legs, comfortable after todays exercise. the knowledge that the house below me is supporting me with love from the friendship contained there. the smells that remind me im in morocco and am living here despite problems or adversity. and some things are uncertain but remain a part of everyday thoughts. life after peace corps and how to prepare. my relationships - how i can love people better. my concern for family - their lives, their work, their beliefs, their loves and passions. my desire to be present for everyone in full capacity - offering support here to other volunteers, while working in my village and still maintaining involvement and awareness of home. overall i feel finally honest. about not knowing. about searching, about being stuck on one theme. on wanting affirmation. about desiring to just know. about trusting people and sometimes being unkind to those i dont. about making assumptions or generalizations. about learning how to live to my full capacity. and through this i feel alive.
